VFD Applications considerations
The output voltage of a PWM VFD is a train of pulses at the switching frequency of the carrier composed. Due to the fast rise time of these pulses, the impact of overhead cables of the cable between inverter and motor are considered. Since the impedance of the transmission line cable and the motor are different, the impulses tend to relate to the motor terminals in the cable.
